Elimination of kiln rings

The graph below shows the improvement in kiln performance achieved with one of our clients by helping them address ring buildups in their kiln. This kiln system has always suffered from ring buildups which were so severe they had to be shot out almost daily to keep the kiln on-line.

However, by working through the problem with the client and optimising a number of material and operational processes, it has been possible to effectively eliminate the stoppages previously caused by these buildups.

As well as providing obvious benefits to clinker production capacity, operating efficiency and relative emissions, the reduction in kiln stoppages has drastically reduced the damaging effects on the refractory and kiln equipment. More immediate benefits have been a huge reduction in ammunition costs and improved workplace amenity by mothballing the kiln gun.
